The CAD Menu
The CAD menu contains commands related to the use of a CAD drawing within "Sight" Survey.
"Sight" Survey runs with, but not inside a CAD program. On this menu, you will find commands to open and close CAD, to open a drawing in CAD (associated with the current job), and to pick points and lines in CAD. Picking points and lines allow you to easily incorporate drawing points into the coordinate file.
In order to simplify some CAD operations for users with limited CAD experience, this menu also includes an Edit Layers item to help you set up and manipulate CAD layers.
This menu contains three additional "measuring" items to help you bring data from CAD into "Sight" Survey. Select Bearing and Select Distance will grab bearing and distance data from selected CAD points and insert it into the appropriate data entry fields in "Sight" Survey, while Measure Between CAD Points is a reporting only routine that returns the bearing and distance between selected CAD points.
Finally, there are options to convert between DGN and DWG files, and to save the current drawing as a DGN (when working in AutoCAD or IntelliCAD).
